A Retro Emblem to preserve a Nepalese film producer’s legacy

I received an opportunity to create a logo for a foundation dedicated to promote screen arts and performance arts in Nepal. Bearing the name of an individual, Late. Gehendra Dhimal, who was one of few people who pioneered filmmaking in Nepal. The foundation was established with a mission to foster new talents in various art disciplines. I generated different concepts for the logo, some incorporating elements like vintage analog film cameras and adorned typography to create a classic-looking logo.

The Final Version

The retro emblem for Gehendra Dhimal pays tribute to the legacy of Bollywood and the beginnings of Nepali cinema. It acknowledges Dhimal's notable contributions, merging a sense of nostalgia with contemporary design features. The design includes a classic Fresnel light, a crucial component in filmmaking. Adorned with vibrant colors and art-deco-style typography, the emblem captures the essence of nostalgia, reflecting the golden analog era of the film movement from the nineteenth century.
