The Problem

The Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal estimates that around 15-20% of the population may experience some form of mental illness (Ministry of Health 2017). This number is believed to have risen significantly due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and prolonged lockdowns in Nepal and other countries. Poor mental health has led to serious consequences, including a rise in suicide rates, domestic violence, sexual assault, and harassment.

The challenge of this project was to create a friendly-looking brand identity that appeals to people and breaks the stigma surrounding mental health. The goal was to design a brand that feels warm, approachable, and supportive, encouraging individuals to open up about their mental well-being. By using soft colors, simple visuals, and compassionate messaging, the brand aims to make mental health conversations less intimidating and more accessible to everyone.

Ideation

The brand explores creative ways to incorporate the imagery of a human brain, either by transforming it into a friendly, relatable character or by blending it with typography. This approach symbolizes understanding and approachability while delivering a visually engaging message that encourages open conversations about mental health.
